Sides, Vegetarian
Four cans of French style green beans (drained really well)
Two cans cream of mushroom soup (might only need one depending on how you like it)
1/4 cup milk (The recipe says more but for me, that is too runny)
Lots of black pepper to taste
1/2 to 1 cup fried onions (depends how much you like)
1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce (or more)
Mix all ingredients together. Bake at 350 for 20 or 25 minutes, stopping five minutes before you are done to top with extra fried onions and then bake the last five minutes.
In a pinch I make this whole thing in the microwave. And I top with the last batch of onions at the very last seconds.
For me, there are no exact measurements, I make it until it looks right. I tend to make sure I have an extra can of green beans and an extra can of soup in case it looks too skimpy or too dry or whatever. And you can make this with just two cans of green beans if you have less people. It’s sure not gourmet or fancy! But that is what we’ve all loved for years!
